Module guide: Send a WhatsApp campaign action

Automatically send WhatsApp campaigns to users to boost engagement at the right moment.

Before You Start

Before using this module, ensure your WhatsApp integration is active in your User.com application. Moreover, you need to have at least one active WhatsApp campaign to be able to use it in the automations.

Once these two conditions are fulfilled, you are ready to automate the WhatsApp campaigns.

What the Module Does

The "Send a WhatsApp campaign" action module allows you to automatically send a WhatsApp campaign to a user directly from the application. You can use this module to deliver time-sensitive updates, confirmations, or personalized messages at scale based on user behavior or predefined rules.

The module uses only the campaigns with pre-approved templates to ensure compliance with WhatsApp’s communication standards.

This module offers three distinct paths (outputs) based on user interaction:

  • On sent: Triggered immediately after the campaign is successfully sent to the user.

  • On click: Triggered when the user clicks on a button inside the WhatsApp message.

  • Unsubscribe: Triggered when the user clicks the “Unsubscribe” button (automatically updates the "unsubscribed from WhatsApp" attribute with "true" value).

These outputs allow you to create highly responsive and adaptive flows depending on how the user interacts with the message.

How to Configure

Find the "Send a WhatsApp campaign" module in the "Actions" category on the right and drag it into your workflow. Click on it to open the configuration form.

Choose the WhatsApp campaign you want to send. Only active campaigns will be listed.

If you have no campaigns created in advance - click on "Create new Whatsapp campaign" and create one in a new tab.

Case Study

Name: Event Reminder for Webinar Registrants.

Scenario: You are organizing a webinar and want to ensure maximum attendance. Two hours before the event starts, an automation triggers the "Send a WhatsApp Campaign" action for all users who registered but haven’t yet opened the email reminder.

This automation flow shows how WhatsApp integration can support event attendance, especially for real-time or time-sensitive activities, helping teams boost turnout and maintain engagement.
