Step-by-step guide

To send a test message, go to: "Campaigns" -> "Email" -> "Create new", update the appropriate fields, -> "Next" -> "Add email message" -> "Layouts".

What are the differences between test messages and standard campaigns sent to 1 or 2 users?

There are a few differences between test emails and standard emails sent to 1 or 2 users.

  1. In Test emails, the unsubscribe link does not work.
  2. Test email messages do not activate Snippet tags. In test emails, tags are not rendered, so you will see the snippet tags, like {receiver.first_name}, instead of dynamic values.

Where do those differences come from?

Test email message can be sent to any email address you want. It’s not obligatory to have this email address in your User.com database. These email messages are not recorded or tracked. Also, there is no campaign created for these messages. This is the why the unsubscribe link doesn’t work and the snipped tags are not activated; data for attributes are not rendered.
