How to use the pop-up builder

Get to know available pop-up types and go through a step-by-step guide.

You can use the builder to create two kinds of pop-ups:

  • Redirect pop-ups - have a button with a link
  • Pop-up forms - have input fields to gather user data and a Thank you screen after the form submit.

Redirect pop-ups

Step 1: Type

To create a pop-up without any inputs you need to choose an appropriate template. As for now, there are two such templates available - you will find them in the Pop-up box layout. After moving to the next step, you will be able to change chosen template by clicking the Reset button.

Step 2: Content

In this step, you can adjust your design and texts to your needs.

In the Links style section you manage your button style and set the redirect URL. Click on the Open type dropdown to choose whether the link should be opened in user's current window or in a new one.

To change colors, click on the drop icon next to appropriate field and use the color picker.

Step 3: Summary

Type the name and description and click Save.

Pop-up forms

Step 1: Type

To create a pop-up form choose one of the templates that have input visible in the preview.

Step 2: Content

Style section

Here you can manage the design of your pop-up. To change colors, click on the drop icon next to an appropriate field and use the color picker.

Inputs section

To be able to save your pop-up you need to add at least one input field. Keep in mind that the one visible from the start is just an exemplary field so you need to add a new one.

Different pop-up templates have different input field limits so go through the list below and see which will fit your case.

  • Full page - Lightbox: 2 fields
  • Slide-in box right - Pop-up right: 1 field
  • Slide-in box left - Pop-up left: 1 field
  • Drop-down box - Dropdown box: 1 field

After you added your input, set it's name and from the dropdown choose which attribute the answer should be saved in. Check Required? if the field has to be filled before submitting the form.

Apart from input fields, you can add checkbox fields to collect consents. Type its texts and choose the attribute you want to save answer to. Note that only attributes of the type boolean are available.

Step 3: Thank you pop-up

You can learn how to create that pop-up here.

Step 4: Summary

Type the name and description and click Save.

Important note

For those who want to check if the email address of the user who filled in the Pop-up form is valid, there's a second option described in the article How to create a pop-up. Input with type "email" will allow you not to update the email addresses which will never be validated.
