How to manage segments

Learn about segment management process and all the details connected with it.

Segments are dynamic groupings of the objects that are automatically synchronized every 4 hours or less (depending on your settings). If you want to know more key facts about segments and their usage, please check the following article.

This article will tell you more segment management and the details around it.

Segment Editing

In every section with the objects (People/Companies/Products, etc) you can find a "Manage" button with the "Segment Management" option that will lead you to the dedicated view in App Settings.

This is the section of the application where you can edit the segments: name, description and invisibility for specific agents.

Other option for segment editing is to change or modify the filter parameters of the segment. To do so you need to enter the section with the objects (People/Companies/Products, etc) and then choose your segment from the dropdown menu under "Segments" button.

Filters panel is automatically opened and you can modify the parameters that form this specific button.

Later on you need to save the changes clicking on the "Update Segment" button and confirming the details.

Default Segments

To personalize your team's experience within the application you can set default segments for:

  • User segments

  • Company segments

  • Product segments

  • Deal segments

  • Ticket segments

In order to set the segments that will become the default view in a specific section for you and your team members you need to go to Settings > App Settings > User Data & Events > Default Segments and choose from the segments created in prior.

Segment Management

There is an additional configuration option for the segments.

In Settings > App Settings > User Data & Events section you can find Segment Management.

Here you can choose segments for users, companies, deals and products that will be visible for all agents invited to your app at the top of a given section.

For each category you can then choose one default segment that will be active for your agents when they enter a given section. Settings in this section will be valid for all agents invited to your app.

Segment Assignment

Apart from the options above you can also set the connection between your agent groups and segments. It is helpful for agent access level configuration. You can limit the access to specific records on the basis of the assignment.
