How to set up filters for future dates?
How to set up automation if your attribute's date is in X days....
Introduction
Let's say you have a company for wedding management. You want to send email to every user, who has wedding in 45 days, 30 days, 15 days, X days.... So basically, the automation with counting down the days to wedding.
I this article you will find out how to set up automation like that.
Case study
Let’s say every user, how is going to have wedding planned, will have tag added “wedding” - which you will check in the Filters. Then you also have to have created custom attribute with “date” type for your user’s wedding (for example 2019-09-25), let's name this custom attribute: ‘wedding_date’. Therefore, the automation to send email to every user who has wedding, e.g. in 45 days, would look like that:
On Date and Time with Repeat every day + Filters: Tag added ‘wedding’ AND ‘wedding date’: less than -44 days ago AND more than -46 days ago ---> Send an email campaign.
Please, pay attention, that in Filters “-” is added in front of the numbers - this is crucial, as this filter is for X days AGO, but with "-" we are reversing it to the future and then it’s going to work correctly for this case.
